First Year students Matthew McGovern and Aaron Deeney won the Junior Physics Award at SciFest in LYIT on Friday, May 11th with their project “Bounce”.
Their project examined the factors that affect the bounce of a basketball (such as Height, Temperature, Pressure, Surface etc.). They were also awarded 2nd Place overall in the competition and are considering going forward to the BT Young Scientist’s competition with their excellent project.
Matthew and Aaron were both members of the 1st Year Basketball team that finished as All-Ireland Plate Runners-Up last week in Limerick.
